Take a Look at our Adoptable Cats

Three colony cats eating food provided by our volunteers.

Living right here in the Hudson Valley, we know the challenges our neighborhoods face with stray or community cats. Whether you need help with Trap-Neuter-Return or want to adopt a rescued cat or kitten (hopefully two!), we primarily serve Poughkeepsie, Fishkill, and the rest of Dutchess Country. We’re a volunteer-run group with a simple mission: humanely reduce the community cat population through Trap‑Neuter‑Return/Place (TNR/P). This approach protects the cats and makes life easier for local residents. We trap the cats, provide spay/neuter surgeries and vaccinations, and then evaluate each one. Friendly cats and kittens go into our adoption program, while true ferals are returned to their outdoor homes. Our volunteers also feed and monitor about 300 community cats across the area.

Solving Neighborhood Feline Problems with our
Humane Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) Program

We understand not everyone wants cats hanging around their property. Unfixed cats can spray on your porch, fight, and yowl at night. The good news is there’s a proven solution. When we trap, fix, and return these cats, nuisance behaviors drop off and colonies stabilize. Over time, there are fewer kittens born outside your apartment or under your shed and fewer late‑night cat fights. For community cats, this is the most practical and compassionate approach we know.

Finding Homes for Friendly Strays

We also meet plenty of cats who just aren’t cut out for outdoor life. Sometimes we trap friendly strays, abandoned pets, or tiny kittens who wouldn’t survive on their own. Those cats deserve warm beds and safe homes. That’s why we carefully evaluate every cat we handle and move adoptable ones into our local foster network. We take care of the initial vet work so families can focus on welcoming a new furry friend.

A True Community Effort

This work is a real neighborhood effort. We rely on local residents to help us trap, foster, feed, and spread the word. Maybe you need help managing a colony in your backyard, or maybe you’re ready to adopt or foster. Whatever your situation, we’re here to help. Please explore our website to learn about our low‑cost clinics and other resources. Together, we can make Dutchess County better for both people and cats.
